Camphill Community Carrick is a warm, town-based residential service supporting up to 12 adults with an intellectual disability to live fulfilling, connected lives within a vibrant and inclusive community. Located on Castle Street in Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary (Eircode: E32 TH26), the community forms part of Camphill Communities of Ireland’s unique person-centred model of shared living, working and learning.
Situated at the gates of the beautifully restored Ormond Castle, the community enjoys a rich historical setting while being fully embedded in the life of the town. Residents benefit from strong connections to local amenities, services and opportunities, supporting active citizenship and meaningful community participation.
The community provides a homely and supportive environment across a number of residential houses and independent living settings, Cuan House, Brogan House, Deaglan, and Gleann an Locha, alongside three independent supported living units, where residents are encouraged to develop independence, build relationships and pursue their personal goals.
Residents in Carrick are highly active and engaged, with strong links to a range of Day Support Services including the The Watergarden, KCATS Arts Studio, and Vita Day Services. Individuals regularly participate in creative, educational and social programmes, as well as meaningful work experience opportunities within the local community.
The community is also closely connected to Camphill’s national initiatives, with residents actively involved in the My Dream Job Programme and the Voices Group, ensuring their voices are heard and their ambitions supported. This enables individuals to explore employment pathways, build confidence, and play an active role in shaping their own lives and communities.
