Grangebeg

Camphill Grangebeg is a vibrant, rural residential service supporting up to 12 adults with an intellectual disability to live fulfilling, connected lives within a peaceful and inclusive countryside setting. Located at Park Lane Farm, Grangebeg, Co. Kildare (Eircode: W91 P4V9), the community forms part of Camphill Communities of Ireland’s unique person-centred model of shared living, working and learning. 

Set within a beautiful rural landscape, Grangebeg offers a rich and nurturing environment where residents are closely connected to nature, farming and community life. The site includes a working farm with a range of animals, including calves, alongside extensive acreage and vegetable allotments where residents actively engage in horticulture and land-based activities. 

The community provides a homely and supportive environment across two uniquely designed residential houses, noted for their distinctive rounded architecture and artistic character. These thoughtfully designed homes create a warm and welcoming space where residents are encouraged to develop independence, build relationships and pursue their personal goals. 

A key feature of Grangebeg is its strong connection to the Northern Region Day Support Services, with a dedicated on-site Day Support Centre. Residents also attend additional Day Supports in The Bridge and Dunshane, providing a wide range of opportunities for participation, creativity and personal development. 

Day Support activities at Grangebeg include: Cookery and life skills, Social farming and horticulture, Arts and crafts, Pottery, Community outings and recreational activities 

Residents also access a broader range of creative and skill-based programmes across the region, including weaving, basketry and candle making. 

Grangebeg features a recently developed sensory room, enhancing the supports available to residents and promoting wellbeing, relaxation and sensory engagement. 

Residents are highly active and engaged, participating in a wide range of Camphill initiatives including the My Dream Job Programme, Voices Group, social farming initiatives, and the Camphill Choir. This strong emphasis on inclusion, creativity and participation ensures that each individual is supported to live a meaningful and enriched life. 

With its combination of residential supports, farming life, creative programmes and strong community connections, Camphill Community Grangebeg offers a unique environment where residents can thrive, surrounded by nature, supported by dedicated staff, and fully connected to the life of the wider community.
