Camphill Kyle

Camphill Community Kyle is a warm, rural residential service supporting 15 adults with an intellectual disability to live fulfilling, connected lives within a peaceful countryside setting. Located at Coolagh, Callan, Co. Kilkenny (Eircode: R95 HN82), the community forms part of Camphill Communities of Ireland’s unique person-centred model of shared living, working and learning.

Set on approximately 22 acres of scenic grassland, Kyle provides a homely and supportive environment across five residential homes, Ard Luí, Tigh Eoin, Cherry Moon, Dalys and Bogha Baistí, where residents are encouraged to discover their strengths, pursue their interests and actively participate in community life.

The community is closely connected to the Southern Region Day Supports and offers a wide range of meaningful and creative activities, including: Weaving and Basketry and participation in the My Dream Job Programme (PUBL/EU funded). Residents also attend additional day support services such as Kcat Art studio, Slievenamon and Journeyman Day services and supported with continued learning, skill development and social inclusion.

Kyle has a strong connection to the land and surrounding rural environment. While the farmland is currently leased to local farmers, the community maintains its roots in agriculture and nature-based living, fostering opportunities for outdoor engagement, wellbeing and connection to the natural world.

Residents are supported by a dedicated staff team under the leadership of Person in Charge, Declan Foley, and are active participants in both community life and the wider local area, promoting inclusion, independence and active citizenship.
