Day Opportunities

A Life of Choice, Purpose and Opportunity

At Camphill Communities of Ireland, Day Opportunites are built around the individual. Every person is supported to explore their interests, develop meaningful skills, and participate fully in community life. From creative arts and education to farming, enterprise and advocacy, our supports provide real opportunities for people to shape lives that reflect who they are and what matters to them.

Day Opportunites Centres

Each Camphill community has its own character, reflecting the people who live and work there, but all share a commitment to empowerment, inclusion, and shared responsibility. Residents are actively involved in daily routines, community decisions, and projects, ensuring that everyone has a voice, purpose, and place within the community.

Camphill Communities of Ireland is more than a network of homes and services—it is a living, evolving family of communities where people of all abilities can grow, thrive, and contribute. Through creativity, work, learning, and shared experiences, every resident and participant has the opportunity to be part of something meaningful, while enjoying a life that is active, connected, and full of purpose.

Approach

More Than Day Opportunites

Day Opportunites at CCOI are not simply programmes, they are environments where people live, learn and grow together. Each person is supported through an individual plan shaped by their goals, interests and ambitions. Across all services, there is a strong focus on independence, community participation and personal development. Guided by national policy and best practice, our supports combine structure with flexibility, ensuring that each person has access to meaningful opportunities that enhance their quality of life.

Connected Supports

Day Opportunites operate as part of a wider, connected model of support across Camphill Communities of Ireland. Each centre provides a foundation where individuals can explore interests and build skills, while additional programmes such as arts, advocacy and enterprise extend these opportunities further. Together, they create a network that supports personal development, community participation and access to meaningful roles. This connected approach ensures that individuals are not limited to one pathway, but can move between opportunities as their interests and goals evolve.

Standards

All Day Supports within Camphill Communities of Ireland are delivered in line with the New Directions framework, the national policy for day services for adults with disabilities in Ireland. This framework places the individual at the centre of all supports and focuses on outcomes that reflect each person’s own wishes, needs and aspirations. Services are designed to support people to develop independence, participate in their communities and build meaningful lives.

Across all centres, there is a strong emphasis on governance, accountability and continuous improvement. Each service operates with clear structures, qualified staff and regular review processes to ensure that supports remain responsive, safe and effective. Person centred planning is central to this approach, ensuring that each individual is actively involved in shaping their own journey.

This commitment to quality ensures that every person accessing Day Supports receives a consistent, high standard of care while also having the flexibility to explore opportunities that are unique to them.
