The Senior Management Team at Camphill Communities of Ireland provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and organisational governance across our communities and services nationwide. Led by Chief Executive Officer Louise Gorman, the team works collaboratively to support high-quality, person-centred services, strengthen organisational culture, and guide the continued development of Camphill Communities of Ireland.
Louise Gorman is the Chief Executive Officer of Camphill Communities of Ireland, bringing compassionate leadership, strong governance, and a deep commitment to community‑based social care.
Louise first joined Camphill as Head of Human Resources in November 2019, where she introduced significant modernisation to people‑management practices and strengthened supports for staff across all communities.
In 2022, Louise stepped into the role of Interim CEO, guiding the organisation through a critical period of restructuring, regulatory engagement and strategic development. Her steady leadership, collaborative approach and dedication to improving quality of life for residents and co‑workers led to her appointment as permanent CEO in April 2022.
Since then, Louise has focused on strengthening governance, enhancing compliance, safeguarding frameworks, improving communication and organisational culture, and reinforcing Camphill’s mission of providing meaningful, inclusive, community‑based support for adults with intellectual disabilities. She is committed to leading with integrity, transparency and respect, ensuring that Camphill Communities of Ireland remains a place where people live, work, and grow together.
We are delighted to welcome James Somers as the new Head of IT at Camphill Communities of Ireland. James brings over two decades of experience leading IT and digital transformation across the not-for-profit and regulatory sectors.
Prior to joining Camphill, James served as IT/IS Manager at the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board, leading digital transformation, compliance, and IT strategy. He also spent over 21 years as IT Manager at Barnardos Ireland, gaining extensive experience in IT service delivery, systems management, and leadership.
With expertise in cybersecurity, IT strategy, and digital transformation, James is committed to ensuring Camphill’s technology is secure, reliable, and supports our communities. We are thrilled to have him on board to guide CCOI’s IT initiatives into the future.
John Sheridan is from County Louth and joined Camphill in October 2025. He brings a positive, personal and engaged approach to community-based social care.
John holds a BA in Economics, Politics and Law from DCU and a MSc in Management from Smurfit Business School, UCD. With a career and background in public affairs, John worked in the private Home Care sector for 14 years before joining Camphill. His experience is in direct health care operations, project management of office moves, and IT databases.
Since joining Camphill, John has sought to bring a positive, constructive and quality focussed attitude to our communities. He has enjoyed meeting community members and families and believes everyone has a voice in navigating the future of our services. Communication and personal engagement are central to John’s approach in supporting staff and community members alike.
We are pleased to introduce Ray Bolger as Head of Human Resources at Camphill Communities of Ireland. Ray brings extensive experience in human resources management, industrial relations and talent strategy, developed through senior HR leadership roles across a range of major organisations in Ireland. With over 20 years of experience in human resources leadership, Ray is dedicated to aligning people operations with overarching business goals to drive sustainable growth.
As Head of HR at CCOI, Ray believes that CCOI’s greatest asset is its people. Ray is responsible for championing a vibrant corporate culture, driving diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, and designing progressive employee experience programs. Prior to joining Camphill Communities of Ireland, Ray worked as Head of HR with Clancy Project Management, Regional Human Resource Manager across EMEA with Johnson Controls.
Ray holds a MSc in Strategic Talent Development, BA (Hons) in Industrial Relations & Personnel Management and is CIPD Accredited. Throughout his career, he has developed strong expertise in employee relations, workforce planning, recruitment strategy and organisational development. He is recognised for his practical, people-focused approach and his commitment to supporting positive workplace culture and employee engagement.
Robert Twiss joined Camphill Communities of Ireland as Head of Finance in November 2025. He is a qualified Cost and Management Accountant and a member of both the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) and the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
Robert brings over 30 years of extensive experience across a variety of industries, including retail, services, manufacturing, and healthcare. His career spans roles in large multinational corporations to small start-ups, where he has both led large finance teams and managed departments as a sole practitioner.
Robert is known for his hands-on leadership style, preferring to work at the “coal face” to understand ground-level issues before making informed strategic decisions. We are truly pleased to welcome him to the team and look forward to the vision, expertise, and innovation he will bring to our services.
We are delighted to welcome Lorraine Ballagh as an Area Services Manager with Camphill Communities of Ireland. Lorraine joined in August 2025 and brings extensive leadership experience in residential and social care.
She previously held key roles at St John of Gods, including Residential Coordinator, Person in Charge, and Quality and Safety Advisor, developing expertise in incident reporting, KPI implementation, governance, and person-centred care. Throughout her career, Lorraine has supported teams across a variety of residential settings and has built strong experience in quality, compliance, and service delivery.
Known for her empathy, adaptability, and commitment to equality and inclusion, Lorraine is passionate about supporting both staff and community members to thrive within inclusive, person-centred environments. Her leadership and experience will be a valuable addition to Camphill Communities of Ireland.
We are pleased to introduce Sandra Murnane, who joined Camphill Communities of Ireland as Area Services Manager in August 2025. Sandra brings over 25 years of extensive experience in healthcare, underpinned by strong clinical expertise and strategic leadership.
She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Gerontological Nursing with RCSI and is a published author, featured in the British Journal of Nursing. Throughout her career, Sandra has worked in the HSE and held a senior leadership role within Mowlam Healthcare.
As a Clinical Nurse Manager and CNM2, she has led multidisciplinary teams, strengthened governance frameworks, enhanced service quality, and driven risk management initiatives to ensure safe, high-standard care delivery.

We are pleased to introduce Terry Brophy as an Area Services Manager. Terry is an Applied Social Care graduate of Technological University Dublin and has worked continuously in the social care sector since 1994, supporting both disability and homeless services.
Terry regards social care as a true vocation, with a strong belief in supporting individuals to reach their full potential serving as a key motivation throughout his career.
Terry’s leadership journey began in 2004 when he took on the management of a youth homeless service, a role he held for nine years before returning to intellectual disability services as a Person in Charge.
In October 2025, Terry was delighted to join Camphill Communities of Ireland as an Area Services Manager, where he now oversees services in Dunshane, Greenacres, Ballybay, and The Bridge.
Our Departmental Managers and Support Leads provide leadership and expertise across a wide range of areas including safeguarding, compliance, finance, clinical supports, employment, fundraising, communications, property, and community programmes. Together, they help ensure the continued delivery of high-quality, person-centred supports throughout Camphill Communities of Ireland.
