A huge thank you to the legendary Armagh Rhymers for visiting us and bringing such energy, story, and sound. 

Special thanks to our Programme Facilitator Jaki Maughan for making it happen, and to Creative Monaghan and Monaghan County Council Arts for their vital support in bringing this unique cultural experience to our community. 

For those who haven’t met them, The Armagh Rhymers are celebrated traditional mummers, keeping alive the ancient Irish folk practice of mumming. Dressed in their iconic straw masks and vibrant costumes, they blend music, theatre, poetry, and dance to tell stories that are centuries old, captivating audiences of all ages. 

Our day began with fantastic live theatre, music, and dance workshops where Community Members, the public, Volunteers, and support staff all got to join in the fun, learn some moves, and make some noise! 

The workshops culminated in a wildly active and lively theatre and music performance that had everyone clapping, laughing, and totally enthralled. It was a true celebration of shared heritage and creative spirit. 

Thank you to everyone who participated and made the day so special. Days like this remind us of the power of the arts to connect, inspire, and bring pure joy!
